First and Emergency Aid Program

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Health Vocational School of Heaalth Services and Emergency Assistance Department was founded on 04/05/2017 with the approval from YÖK and started education in 2017 by taking its first students.

 

Information about the program 

Prehospital emergency health care is a very important issue; "First Aid and Emergency Aid Technician" performs the pre-hospital emergency medical intervention to the patient in case of any kind of injury, trauma, poisoning, etc., and makes the patient survive by providing "basic life support", "advanced life support" towards to the dirst aid units. First and Emergency Aid Technician (Paramedic) is the person who provides emergency care at a professional level outside the hospital. Paramedics today have become important and obligatory elements in recent developments in ambulance systems and radical changes in the prehospital emergency system. For this reason, there is a need for trained staff who will work both in the ambulances and follow and implement the changes in the 112 emergency aid system. Fort his purpose;

 

Aim

 It is defined as the key of the life chain and constitutes an important part of the prehospital emergency care; able to intervene to prevent injuries, to provide basic and advanced life support, to be able to recognize all kinds of system trauma and to carry out the appropriate emergency approach, equipped with the information that can intervene in the first case with the patient or injured in the critical situation; to ensure that the first intervening person is a competent person "First Aid and Emergency Aid Technician" who is able to act in accordance with the ethical rules that enable the patient or wounded to safely reach the hospital with ambulance.

 

Target

Our aim as the First and Emergency Assistance Program is to reach the training standards that can compete nationally and internationally by using advanced education techniques, to be able to adapt to changing circumstances in the national and international arena, to be productive with effective problem solving skills, to be a leader and pioneer educational institution in the training of health technicians who have the professional qualifications in line with the social needs and who are aware of their responsibilities towards the country.

Qualification:

Students who have successfully completed the program are given first degree diploma in the field of first aid and emergency aid. They will receive the title of "First and Emergency Aid Technician".

 

Qualification Requirements and Rules

Successful completion of all courses available in the program, to obtain a weighted average of at least 2.0 out of 4.00.

 

Employment of Graduates

Students who graduate from the First and Emergency Assistance Program are employed in emergency services, land, air and sea ambulances in public and private institutions, universities, hospitals in the health sector in accordance with their competencies.

 

Access to Further Studies

Graduates can apply to the Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services programs (undergraduate programs) of other universities related to their field in the direction of the related regulations of YÖK with the associate degree.

 

Examinations, Assessment and Grading

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University Prelımınary Lıcense and Undergraduate Teaching and Examination Regulations are taken into account in the Examination and Evaluation Principles.

 

Graduation Requirements

Students who have successfully completed the Department of Emergency and First Aid must successfully complete 120 ECTS / credit and 20 workday summer internship in 4 semesters in order to graduate.
